Wengen, Schweiz

Då är vi från skibum50plus på plats i populära Wengen sedan nyårsafton. Vi startade vår resa i Viksjöfors, Hälsingland med tåg ner till Arlanda där vi bodde ett dygn på SAS Radisson Blue (rekommenderas, mkt avstressande) innan vi klev på vårt plan från  Swiss International som smidigt tog oss till Zürich.

Tåg till Wengen, 3 byten på tåget, Bern, Interlaken Ost, samt Lauterbrunnen. Smidiga byten och 3 timmars tågresa, men vem har bråttom? Passa på att njut av alla intryck, människor, städer och byar som passeras är vår devis, och den vackra naturen med bergen.

Vill du absolut snabba på din restid finns möjlighet att flyga helikopter direkt från Zürich eller boka en limousine. Tips på tåget är att i 2:a klass dubbeldäckare i trappan upp till övre plan finns ett trappräcke som är perfekt att lägga sitt skidfodral med upp till 2 par skidor i.

 

Nyår i Wengen

Välbesökt och med fantastiska snöförhållanden redan innan jul, just nu ligger 108 cm snö på berget. Wengen bjöd på ett fantastiskt fyrverkeri och partystämning, klockan han slå 03.00 innan vi kom i säng.

Lauberhorn-Rennen

Vi har ju medlemmar som kommer ned för att uppleva det legendariska Lauberhorn-Rennen nu i Januari. Här en bild från gårdagen där den Schweiziska armén lägger plattor på torget som underlag för världscupsbyn som kommer att täcka platsen med restauranger, pubar, stor scen för prisutdelning och nummerlappsutdelning.

Detta är ett arkitektoniskt mästerverk i logistik, arbetsvilja, kompetens och precision, allt utrustning tas upp från Lauterbrunnen via tåg, eller lyfts upp med helikopter. Vi avrundar med en bild som Rolf Wegmüller, Wengen turism tagit från ett tidigare event.

Lauberhorn-Rennen

 

Now we, from skibum50plus are on location in popular Wengen since New Year’s Eve. We started our journey in Viksjöfors, Hälsingland (Sweden) by train down to Arlanda (Stockholm) where we stayed for a day at the SAS Radisson Blue Hotel (recommended, very relaxing) before we stepped on our plane from Swiss International, who quickly took us to Zurich.

Train to Wengen, 3 changes, Bern, Interlaken Ost, and Lauterbrunnen. Smooth change and 3 hour train journey, but who’s in a hurry? Be sure to enjoy all the impressions, people, cities and villages that you pass by, and the beautiful scenery with the mountains.

If you want to travel fast on your journey, you can fly a helicopter directly from Zürich or book a limousine. The tip of the train is that in the 2nd class double decker in the stairs up to the upper level there is a staircase that fits perfect to put your ski case behind with up to 2 pairs of skis.

New Year in Wengen
Well-attended and with great snow conditions before Christmas, at the moment 108 cm snow is on the mountain. Wengen offered a fantastic firework and party atmosphere, we got to bed at 3 o’clock.

We have members coming down to experience the legendary Lauberhorn-Rennen race now in January. Here is a picture from yesterday where the Swiss Army put out plates on the square as the basis for the World Cup village (Wengen sports center), which will cover the place with restaurants, pubs, big stage for award ceremonies and start number distribution.

This is an architectural masterpiece in logistics, hard work, ability, competence and precision, all equipment is transported from Lauterbrunnen by train, or lifted by helicopter. We round off with a picture from Rolf Wegmüller, Wengen tourism taken from an earlier event.
