Lauberhornrennen starts tomorrow

I morgon den 15 Januari startar legendariska Lauberhornrennen i Wengen. Vi botaniserade lite på byn och stötte bl a på delar utav det Slovenska alpina herrlaget. Mitt i Wengen står världscupsbyn nu färdig. Intill den magnifika byn minnesstenen över Lauberhornrennen med start 1930 då Cristian Rubi Schweiz vann störtloppet, Ernst Gertsch, Schweiz, slalom och engelsmannen Bill Bracken, kombinationen. Se sen till höger på stenen! Slalomlegenden Ingemar Stenmark. Detta är Schweiz största vintersportarrangemang mitt i den alpina sportens egentliga vagga, Wengen är verkligen originalet och flera familjer som bor och arbetar med alpin sport här har också familjenamnen representerade på denna sten, det är stort på gränsen till religiöst och religionen heter alpin utförsåkning i sin mest förfinade form. Den kunskap tradition, och gästvänlighet som Wengen andas är något att eftersträva att få uppleva vare sig du är nybörjare eller van åkare.

Tomorrow the 15th of January the legendary Lauberhornrennen in Wengen begins. We explored the village and just happened to bump in to the Slovenian men alpine ski team at the railway station. In the middle of Wengen the world cup village now stands ready and next to it the great stone of Lauberhorn wins with start 1930. Back then Christian Rubi, Switzerland won the down hill race, Ernst Gertsch Switzerland, slalom and finally the Brittish racer Bill Bracken won the combination. And then if you look to the right side of  this famous stone you see the legend of slalom, Ingemar Stenmark. This is the greatest winter sport event in Switzerland, taken place in the very heart of alpine skiing. Wengen with the surrounding areas really  is the original and several families who lives here and work with alpine sports or connected business, have their family names on this stone. This is huge almost religious and the religions name is alpine skiing in its most pure form. This knowledge, the tradition and hospitality that Wenegn breath is something to experience wether you are new beginner on your skis or a great skier.
